What is the Diaconate Book Fund?

The Church Periodical Club (CPC) established the Diaconate Book Fund (DBF) in 2025 to continue its mission of spreading the Gospel through the “written” word. The DBF provides financial support to people in preparation for the vocational diaconate to purchase theological books and material in print and electronic formats.

How are grants made?

Grant applications are submitted by individuals in diaconal formation prior to March 1st. Funds are disbursed by the end of December.

Who is eligible?

Individuals in preparation for the vocational diaconate in The Episcopal Church (Provinces I-IX).
The need for materials to carry out the mission of the Church must be established for all requests and there must be financial need. Maximum grant is $250. Approval is required from the diocesan level person responsible for Diaconal Formation.
